A competition to find the world’s most economically efficient drivers will be run in national leagues from 1 to 30 June under the name TRUCKERMANIA. The 8th Drivers’ League promises some exciting moments, with 9 countries running national drivers’ leagues in parallel: Germany, Switzerland, the Netherlands, Great Britain, Italy, Poland, the Czech Republic, Rumania and South Africa. Rankings will be based on scores for driving style from the FleetBoard data analysis, which assesses a range of factors such as the use of anticipation during driving, changes in speed and braking behaviour. Taking the complexity of the route into consideration, the system then evaluates these factors to give an objective view on how economically the truck has been driven. Truck drivers are thus able to demonstrate how safely and efficiently they can manage their routes, so saving both fuel and CO2 emissions for their companies.
